Attractive Faith

"We try to make Christianity attractive, and that's like saying I'm going to make the Rockies attractive. How are you going to do that? By letting them be what they are. I think nothing is more compelling than to see people who have the Spirit, living in the Spirit, and not trying to advertise, just being what they are."

I see a lot of that in the way we "market" our faith with music. The Christian music CD's adorned with our artists - all pretty and young. Browsing through the music section of a Christian bookstore is the most depressing experience.

Yes it is depressing. I suppose I can see their side of it, but that doesn't mean that I like it. :\ Reed Arvin has a book titled The Wind in the Wheat that is about a young man who loved God and wanted to have a music ministry but was quickly disillusioned by the Christian music industry.
