A Rare Bird

It's good to know that there are still politicians who have not become jaded and who still have a heart for helping those who cannot help themselves. The opinion of our local newspaper carried a story of a man who was recently in Flordia boarding a plane when he saw Senator Mike DeWine of Ohio. He struck up a conversation with him and learned that the senator (who lost his bid for office in November) was with his wife and daughter and was waiting to board a plane for Haiti.

It was a private trip that he paid for himself and has done so many times in the past. He and his wife have always had an interest in helping the orphans in Haiti and were going down this Cristmas with gifts for all $4500 orphans. Many of the gifts were donated by others but it's good to know that the soon to be former Senator cares is a man who is compassionate enough to reach out, not just in the name of politics, but in the name of love.

Senator Dewine is one of the good ones. I voted for him. He will be missed in Washington.

By the way, I like your new look here on the blog.

Hey, very nice design.

Didn't know much about him, but it's nice that he is doing good things even when cameras aren't rolling.
