I'm just back from church and once again I am amazed at people. In a good way. Some of you may know that Backpacks for Pine Ridge is selling Fair Trade coffee at our church. It's a way to raise some $ for backpacks and school supplies and help the farmers in Third World countries who grow the coffee and raise awareness about Fair Trade, something not a lot of folks in our area know about. I was happy that a $10 bag of coffee could do so much good but then tonight a man in our church approached me and asked if he could ask me a question. "Sure",I said. He pointed to the list of needs at the local homeless shelter that his hanging on our bulletin board. He particularly pointed to the "coffee" and asked if they still need coffee. I told him that they pretty much needed coffee all the time. He then asked if I would bring a case of coffee to church next Sunday so he could buy the whole case and then take it to the shelter. Amazing.
BTW, I will not be blogging much this week. I am scheduled to work 91 hours this week at work.
